The mission of the Alpharetta Historical Society is to promote an interest in and the study of history, genealogy, and related fields as it collects, assembles, preserves, and disseminates historical and genealogical information related to Alpharetta and old Milton County for the benefit of its members, their descendants, and the public.

A growing collection of historical documents, genealogy files, photographs, maps, books, and microfilms are available to the public for research.
Future Farmers of America Log Cabin At Milton Center
Originally constructed between 1934 and 1935 by students in the Future Farmers of America Milton High School Chapter, the Cabin is maintained as a teaching museum by the Alpharetta Historical Society. The Alpharetta Historical Society raises funds to maintain the FFA Log Cabin, its structure and contents located in the Cabin.
Events and Programs
Members of the Society provide and partner on a variety of events and programs for the public which includes historical programs at local schools or on site at the FFA Log Cabin and/or the Mansell House and Gardens; actively participants in community programs - Old Soldiers Day Parade and Taste of Alpharetta. Mansell House and Gardens Special Events Facility
The Queen Anne style house, constructed in 1912, is owned by the City of Alpharetta and managed by the Alpharetta Historical Society and serves as a special events facility to the public for weddings and meetings. Check out how you can rent the Mansell House and Gardens for a special occasion.
The Alpharetta Historical Society is a non-profit 501(c) (3) organization governed by the State of Georgia. It operates under a Board of Trustees consisting of elected trustees, officers, and standing committee chairpersons. Members are encouraged to join a committee and get involved.
